Admissions

All admissions to Stanton Under Bardon Primary School are dealt with by Leicestershire County Council.

Admissions Policy

For entry from 2014 and subsequent mid-term (in-year) applications Stanton Under Bardon Primary School will adopt Leicestershire’s Policy. The Admissions Criteria will remain the same as listed in Leicestershire’s Policy.

Oversubscription

Our planned admission number for 2026-27 is 17 pupils. If oversubscribed please contact County Hall direct for more information or visit their web site for a copy of the appeals form.

The LA is required to continue to co-ordinate both First Time Admissions and Secondary Transfers, which includes applications to Academies, using the common application form. To view Leicestershire’s School Admissions Policy see below.

If you wish to appeal a decision made by Leicestershire’s School Admissions,  you can do so here LCC Admission Appeals

First Time Admissions

All children who are four years old at the beginning of the academic year, will start school in September, each year. All children within the school’s catchment area are eligible for admission at this school, provided that an application is made to the Local Authority. The school can admit children from outside of the catchment area if the planned admission number is not exceeded.

Applications

Applications can be made online at https://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools-colleges-and-academies/school-admissions/apply-for-a-primary-school-place

Parents are very welcome to visit the school before their children are enrolled and find out more about us. Please contact the School Office on 01530 242377 or admin@stanton-u-b.leics.sch.uk if you wish to make an appointment to visit, so that the headteacher can be available to show you around and answer any questions you may have.

In the Summer term before your child is due to attend the school, there will be opportunities for you and your child to visit, meet staff and familiarise yourselves with the school site.
