RAMA & SITA SKETCHES
Mr Shirley brought in some carved, wooden busts of Rama and Sita.
We observed closely and then sketched one carefully. We discussed and practiced building up our sketches using rough shapes and guidelines. These helped us with the proportions of our sketches. You may see some of the guidelines - we left them in. We like them as they tell the story of our sketches. They show how we built up each image. Mr Shirley thinks we listened well and worked with attention to detail. He is very proud of us. I wonder which you think shows the most detail... and which is your favourite? |
COIL POTS
|
Following our trip to the museum we made clay coil pots with an ancient Egyptian theme.
We coiled the pots last week. Once they were dry we pained them with designs such as the 'ankh' and 'eye of Horus'. It was our first attempt at coiling. Some pots cracked as they dried, but we think that just makes them look even more ancient... We are thrilled with the individuality of our designs - they all look so different! |
ANCIENT EGYPT TOPIC
Breaking News -
Ancient Egyptian burial chamber painting discovered near Class 3... This video (opposite) shows the painting, which depicts ancient Egyptians in traditional clothing, wigs and Jewellery. Filming in the tomb was hazardous and difficult, but you should be able to make out some of the amazing details captured. What a find! |

INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL KIT DESIGNS
As part of our International Schools project we have learned about flags around the world.
We each chose a country and looked carefully at its flag, taking note of colours and shapes in particular. We then used these elements in our kit designs. Finally we painted our designs onto t-shirts. They look fabulous, don't you agree? I wonder if you can guess what countries we are representing in the pictures opposite... |
