Class 2 - 2015/2016
We watched a video on puppet making and then discussed making our own puppets using a wooden spoon.
We could choose to make any character we wanted.
Last week, in our sketchbooks, we made our designs for the spoon puppets.
We were so excited to actually be making the puppets this week.
Characters were as diverse as Superman, Ariel, Snow White, a younger brother and even a teacher, though the most popular genre was Star Wars.
You might spot Obi Wan, Darth Vader, or Princess Leia opposite to name but three...
We worked really hard on our designs, we think that the puppets closely resemble our artwork, and we are thrilled with them.
FABULOUS HOMEWORK PROJECTS
'HELLO OCEAN' POEMS
These poems are based around the senses...
We observed and discussed the work of Alexander Calder.
Then we designed mobiles, in the style of Calder, based on an 'ocean creature' theme.
Finally we made these mobiles, using wire, feathers, beads and various other materials.
We found the wires tricky to join together, but persevered...
We love the way they move.
