Class 1 - 2015/2016
TRIP TO ULVERSCROFT MANOR
We took a coach to nearby Ulverscroft Manor and spent the day outdoors there.
We built shelters in teams.
We used mud, acorns, bracken and pine cones to create natural sculptures.
After lunch we all helped to plant trees in the New Forest.
We also hunted - and found - minibeasts, which we then observed and identified before returning them to their natural habitats.
It was a glorious day, as you can see from the pictures (left)!
We had a day dedicated to technology.
Our task was to firstly design and then create a minibeast that could move.
We needed to choose suitable materials for the minibeast and devise a way to give our models movement.
The split pin was the most popular choice.
We all evaluated our creations at the end of the day, thinking about what worked really well and how we could improve our designs.
Take a look at our gallery (opposite).
We are really pleased with our final designs.
Don't you think we worked hard!
